So I re-watched Dial M for Mayor tonight and I couldn’t help but make the connection between the two end scenes. Now I wasn’t at a loss for the fact that the Gates/Beckett scene used some chess analogies, as well as the Castle/Shadowy Figure scenes did. But I will say this is the first time I’ve…

This is a very interesting theory. I would love for it to turn out that Gates was placed in the 12th for the sole purpose of protecting Kate. I’m getting little butterflies just thinking about all the possible directions this storyline could take us. This also sounds like something AWM and team would throw at us. I think you might be on to something here. From now on I’m going to keep this theory in mind as I watch the show, especially when Gates is on screen. Because let’s face it, she has to have more of a role than just being the captain. Thanks for getting the plot bunnies in my head all astir!

I’ve wondered about this, but hadn’t seen it anywhere. This is why I love the Castle fandom…always thinking.

(not my gif) I really love this, BUT there is one thing that’s out of place; the mayor is there to keep Castle there [to protect Beckett]. Based on the latter of this theory, Gates is also there to protect Beckett. Gates would get rid of Castle (we think) if mayor went bye-bye. Me thinks this can be amended by IA is onto the who dragon debacle and could be conducting their own line of investigation separate from mystery-man-Smith… SOMEONE IRON THIS PART OUT SO MY MIND CAN BE AT PEACE!! I REALLY WANT JESS’ THEORY TO WORK!

That is kind of a little bump in the road. We never know for sure that Gates would get rid of Castle if the Mayor were gone. So that argument is a little weak because Gates herself never stated this episode that she had any intention of getting rid of Castle. 

I like the theory that Gates is part of a separate investigation taking place in the IA. 

We also don’t know that the guy that Castle is talking to knows everything about everything. So, there’s that.

Who knows?!

But you know, no matter how many times I watch Sucker punch, Knockdown, Knockout, and Rise, this whole conspiracy confuses the crap out of me. Dial M for Mayor just makes it worse.
